Most recently based in Afghanistan, I've been a humanitarian and academic for nearly thirty years serving as a gender and humanitarian expert for UNDP, UNICEF, UNFPA, UNHCR, UNV, UN Women and OCHA. I was UNHCR’s first GBV Advisor in Chad/Darfur, UNHCR’s Regional GBV Advisor in the Balkans and lead evaluator for UN Women peacebuilding program in Kyrgyzstan. I’m a member of UN’s new Anti-Trafficking in Humanitarian Settings Taskforce, the UN’s Protection from Sexual Abuse and Exploitation (PSEA) Task Team, the Inter-Agency Standing Committee (ISAC) Gender Based Violence (GBV) Area of Responsibility (AoR) under the Protection Cluster and IASC’s Sub-Working Group on Gender and Humanitarian Action. Jonathan Isaac Jackson is a Managing Partner at The Colored Section, along with Philip Williamson Jr. The Colored Section is a Creative Agency and Independent Film Production Company based in New Orleans and Philadelphia, specializing in creating short form content and films, independently distributing them internationally through streaming sites like REVRY and Amazon. The Colored Section has had films selected and screened in The New Orleans Film Festival (2014-2019), PBS Online Film Festival (2016), San Francisco Black Film Festival (2017), and the New York Film Festival (2017), among many others. Jonathan also directed 6 music videos for music artist PERK that were shot in New Orleans, Los Angeles, and Las Vegas, and ended the year with a short documentary called "Chief Black Hawk". In 2020, Jonathan looks to complete his first two features, a horror/fantasy called "The Necromancer", and a feature documentary based off of his short "Chief Black Hawk" about the history of Mardi Gras Masking in New Orleans.

Hi there! I am a young French and Colombian documentarian currently based in Washington DC with the will to keep moving. I studied Sociology in Paris and Visual Anthropology in the city of Barcelona where I co-directed my first short documentary. I have worked for the Margaret Mead Film Festival, a documentary festival, part of the American Museum of Natural History in New York. I simultaneously worked as a Production Assistant and Field Researcher for Loki Films, an independent documentary production company owned by Heidi Ewing and Rachel Grady, two Oscar nominated directors. The main themes in my work surround ritual, memory and community. My intention is to follow in our every day life the unnoticed signs that can reveal a little more about our nature. I am currently working on a personal project about the last open air fish market in the entire United States, and on the pre-production of a short documentary about the religious statues that populate Colombian country roads.
