I was born in Qaladze, Iraqi Kurdistan, in 1988. In 2006 I found the photographic archive of my father, who was a photographer between 1975 – 1992. I never had the chance to talk to him, since he was killed in 1992. I wanted to understand what my father did, and decided to embrace photography fully. His archive became my photography school and opened my mind to other people’s stories.
