Ricardo Bacallao grew up in Havana, Cuba. He graduated from the prestigious Instituto Superior de Arte in Cuba as Director in Film, Radio and Tv. In NYC he obtained a Masters in Fine Arts(MFA) from NYU’s Film program. He is the first Berlinale Talents Campus from Cuba 2003 and 2004. He is living in NYC as Freelance Filmmaker for tv stations and private companies. In 2010 He obtained an Emmy from NY. And in 2014 became the Cuban American of the year for Union City, NJ. He has several films and likes to combine fiction and documentary genres. He is finishing his first feature film a political thriller” The Uncle’s Request” and “Cubans at the Edge of the Berlin Wall” is his last documentary.
