Request QuoteEnrique Huaiquil is a Chilean-American award-winning cinematographer, photojournalist, documentary photographer, video editor, and graphic artist based in Northern Virginia. He has covered a wide variety of issues, including the Central American caravans trying to cross the U.S.-Mexico border, the aftermath of the earthquake in Puerto Rico, white supremacy in America, COVID-19 intensive care units, and immigration detention centers. Enrique has been documenting the immigration crisis in the U.S. In 2021, his focus was primarily on the growing Afghan community in the Washington, DC area as a result of the increased number of asylum seekers and refugees who had to flee Afghanistan with the American withdrawal in 2021. As a Pulitzer Center on Crisis Reporting grantee, he has explored and chronicled the challenges faced by refugees who evacuated Afghanistan after the Taliban takeover. Enrique's work has been published in a number of major news outlets including Al Jazeera English, NBC News, NewsMax, China Global Television Network, PBS, WETA, Bloomberg, and Business Insider. He has collaborated with a large number of NGOs, government agencies and educational institutions including GreenPeace, Sandy Hook Promise, and the Make-A-Wish Foundation. He is an Emmy Award recipient for video editing of a short documentary produced by Al Jazeera, He Survived Ebola, Now This Doctor Is Battling Coronavirus and a Webby award winner for cinematography for the video The Awful TRUTH about “No Trespassing” Laws. Enrique has a master's degree in filmmaking from AmericanUniversity and he is also a talented artist who specializes in oil-on canvases.He calls his style abstract-surrealist and has shown his work in several galleries in the DMV area.
