Liam Maloney is a documentary photographer and videographer based in Toronto. His clients include Time, The Guardian, Foreign Policy, Mother Jones, Maclean's, National Post, CBC, Vice, The National, NFB, Discovery and more. Maloney was a participant in the prestigious Eddie Adams Barnstorm workshop, was a finalist for the Hot Docs Lindalee Tracey Award and has been nominated for a National Magazine Award. He won a Gold Medal at the 2011 COPA. He was nominated for Picture Story of the Year at the 2014 NPAC POY. He was recently named a finalist for the 2014 Dorothea Lange-Paul Taylor Prize. His immersive installation Texting Syria is part of the is part of the 2014 Festival Images in Vevey, Switzerland as well as the 2014 Scotiabank Nuit Blanche festival in Toronto, Canada. He is RISC-certified in Battlefield Medical Response and properly equipped for work in hostile environments, and is a member of the Frontline Freelance Network.
