Farhan Alam, has been in the film and television industry for over 19 years. He has worked as a cinematographer, director, and editor on many award-winning programs. Recently his feature film, Sawan, was Pakistan’s official entry to the 90th Academy Awards in the foreign film category. Farhan’s passion includes bringing social issues to the mainstream public, be it editing a documentary on the side effects of dry cleaning or just contributing ideas to fellow film makers. Farhan has also worked for four years as a cameraman, editor, and producer at Voice of America. Some of the productions that he has worked on are Kahani Pakistani and View360, for Kahani Pakistani, he has shot, produced, and edited numerous episodes. Before joining Voice of America, Farhan worked on an episodic documentary covering Pakistani film celebrity Reema’s new life in the United States. During this documentary shoot he also covered the historic 2012 elections and traveled to multiple cities around the country.
