My name is Kateryna Hatsenko. I am 24 years old. I have been working in journalism for more than six years. Since the beginning of the full-scale war, I began working as a stringer, correspondent and local producer/fixer for foreign media, including Česká televize, The Globe and Mail, The Economist, Thomson Reuters Foundation, 13PRODUCTIONS, Czech weekly magazine RESPEKT, DELFI media, I have a bachelor’s degree in journalism. In 2021 I took Data Driven Journalism course at the Kyiv School of Economics. In 2023, as a Vaclav Havel Fellow I worked at the Radio Free Europe / Radio Liberty and The Voice of America project Current Time in company’s headquarter in Prague. The same year I took an intensive course HEAT “How to operate in dangerous conditions”. In this course, I learned how to provide first aid, how to behave in captivity and mine-hazardous areas, how to plan a route to the front lines.
