Scenes - Brazil - Bottle Top Skateboards

As the sun rises over Rio de Janeiro, a group of young skateboarders thrash and turn through a crosshatch of narrow alleyways. Their skateboards are made from recycled plastic bottle tops, collected, and manufactured within the city's sprawling favela district. Arian Rayegani, a Canadian engineer, came up with a unique eco-friendly solution to help alleviate the problem of waste in Brazil. He founded Na Laje Designs in 2020 and combined his passion for skateboards and recycling.

Bolsonaro usa el Bicentenario de la Independencia de Brasil como acto electoral

Durante los actos cívico militares, en Brasilia y Río de Janeiro para conmemorar la Independencia de Brasil, el Presidente, Jair Bolsonaro, aprovechó su discurso para pedir votos, atacar a su principal adversario, el petista, Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva y reforzar las pautas conservadoras de su gobierno. Ante una multitud que le aclamaba en la playa de Copacabana, al grito de “mito, mito”, Bolsonaro consiguió la imagen que anhelaba, darse un baño de masas en un mar de banderas y camisetas verde-amarelas como muestra de fuerza ante su adversario, el ex presidente Lula da Silva, quien figura como principal favorito en las encuestas de intención de voto en las elecciones del 2 de octubre. Candidato a la reelección, Bolsonaro discursó en contra del aborto y de la legalización de las drogas, destacó su condición de cristiano, como guiño también al electorado evangélico entre el que cuenta con un gran apoyo, y volvió a afirmar que su gobierno está libre de corrupción para atacar al petista, Lula da Silva, a quien llamó “cuadrillero de 9 dedos”, mientras el público coreaba “Lula ladrón, tu lugar es en la prisión”. En un gesto para el público evangélico, el Presidente subió al camión de sonido del pastor Silas Malafaia, desde donde discursó en la playa de Copacabana, en Río de Janeiro. Malafaia llamó a la oración y calificó al Presidente como un "hombre elegido por Dios." Entre los seguidores de Bolsonaro, varios exhibieron carteles con ataques al STF, el Tribunal Supremo Federal, contra el que el Presidente mantiene una tensa relación con duras críticas a los jueces.
