Nat Geo TV took on San Diego by four themes – creativity, diversity, discovery and adventure. I zeroed on its Balboa Park, where I met with rangers, botanists, Western African drum teachers, civic organists and jazz musicians.
Oklahoma's Little River is not well known. Even amongst those who live within five miles of it. But following the river, to the Oklahoma's lowest point, passes through territory with links to unicorns, Bigfoot, mountain towns, and a bird that acts like Christopher Walker.
Produced/hosted an 18-part video series for National Geographic Learning's US History American Stories textbooks for 8th and 11th grades. Each video turned a history lesson into a travel experience – often ones including costumes and reenactments – to help demonstrate how history is "alive" – and researching the past can be a personalized, fun, rewarding journey.
