About
I am Sarra Chaouch-Şimşek, a cross-media journalist with contributions to renowned magazines such as ZEIT, Süddeutsche Zeitung and Abendzeitung. My work ranges from interviews with psychologists for ZEIT Online to reports on homelessness in Munich. I shot reports in Tunisia for Galileo (ProSieben) and received the BLM Radio Prize 2020 for a feature about Muslims in Bavaria. Holding a degree in political science, I completed my journalistic training at the German School of Journalism (Deutsche Journalistenschule), followed by a master's degree in journalism at Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich. At Bayerischer Rundfunk, I produced a 28-minute documentary on CO2 storage for “Gut zu Wissen.” I have also worked as a freelance reporter and videojournalist for the Turkish public broadcaster TRT Digital, producing various reports. Fluent in German, English and Arabic, I am proficient in storytelling across various media, including print, video, and podcasts.
