About

As a freelancer in media, Nikolas is focused on social and religious topics. In his reports and documentaries, he tells visually and dramaturgically impressive stories that will have a lasting effect on the audience. He worked as a trainee at North German Broadcasting (NDR / ARD) in Hamburg. He worked for three years for investigative magazines such as award-winning Panorama (ARD). Since then, he worked as a director and video journalist for ARD and realized contract works for freeeye.tv (e.g. DIE ZEIT & n-tv). He became a documentary cameraman and video journalist in NDR´s documentary and reporting unit in 2012. At present, he works as a freelance filmmaker for DIE BOX, which is the developing unit at NDR for documentary storytelling and that publishes the documentary series ´7 days´ and documentary talk ´The Story of One Evening´, which he is nominated for Grimme Award 2015. His documentaries are shown on film festivals worldwide.
