Over the course of 10 years, she has produced and shot over 25 reports across the middle-east region. In 2016, she became Iran's first female DP for a fiction feature film, following the 1979 Revolution. Her most prominent works include: two documentaries she directed and DP'd for ARTE TV titled A GOAL FOR FREEDOM (Kabul) and DEATH OF DAPHNE (Malta); a short documentary she directed and DP'd for VICE MEDIA titled PRESERVING TASTE (Iran) that was nominated for a James Beard Award; four narrative feature films for which she served as DP; and two news feature reports produced and co-shot for VICE NEWS in Afghanistan post-Taliban that won three News & Doc Emmys as well as a Peabody Award. In 2023, she and her team in Tehran received another Emmy for the series HOSTAGES and also produced a rare VICE NEWS report from Iran on the aftermath of the "Women Life Freedom" protests.

The second unit of the film had to be produced and shot in Afghanistan, which is what I managed with a small team and Jake Simkin in Kabul.
I shot only the Iran and Afghanistan parts of the feature documentary, which looks at the mis-treatment of Australia towards its asylum seekers.
