From there, she climbed to a full-time position that included being on-air talent, producer, writer, editor, videographer, and more. She’s covered events such as the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo, Secretary of Labor Hilda Solis’ visit to Houston Community College (HCC) and the 2011 announcement of the meningitis law. Plus, she also worked the sports circuit, covering the Houston Texans and the Houston Dynamo. Now, she has a new venture. She's transitioned from HCCTV to KHOU-TV as a writer/production assistant and has added producing the 4:30 a.m. newscast to the mix of activities.

Khrystyna Balushka is the owner of Paper Floral Artistry, a company that designs custom flowers made of acid-free paper. This story talks about how she got started, the flower-making process, and her future plans. I shot and edited the video as well as wrote the script.
