About

I am a British-based film director originally from the Kurdish region of Iraq. I moved to the United Kingdom in 2001 and studied Contemporary Fine Art at the University of Lincoln, and then finished my BA (Hons) in Television and Film Design at Leeds Metropolitan University. I was the co-writer and director of the first Kurdish animated film (The Legend of Kawa the Blacksmith, with versions in both Kurdish and English). I am studying for a Masters degree in Cinema at the Leeds Metropolitan University. I am now working as an independent film director, animator, editor, and designer.
