During the course of his twenty + year career Andrew Paterson has worked for several major media outlets including the National Geographic Channel, CNN, and ABC News. He played a key role during the launch of both The National Geographic Channel and MSNBC, producing programming for each networks’s flagship news journal.
Andrew loves to journey around the world to produce award-winning long form documentary programming and newsmagazine features. Andrew and his camera crews explore unusual and exotic locations. He has traveled in the back of a Fedex cargo plane with a pair of giant pandas en route from Beijing to the Memphis Zoo, walked with amateur athletes as they endured the blazing heat of the Gobi Desert, and experienced sub-arctic temperatures while touring Canada’s Oil Sands facilities.
His wide ranging work includes an investigation of Aids in Africa, an examination of Chinese immigration to the United States, and a look at the treatment of Thailand’s domestic elephants. His programs garner industry awards including several Cine’ Golden Eagles, the US Humane Society’s Genesis Award, and a National Emmy nomination.
