Mithun Pramanik is a Kolkata-based filmmaker with more than a decade of experience covering regional news and making fiction and documentary films. He has played every role in the production process, including director, director of photography, producer, and editor. While covering news, Mithun often works as a one-man band, shooting, producing, and editing all of his own work. His work has been shown on channels like BBC, Al Jazeera, National Geographic, DW, Zinc, etc. He played a key role as a producer and editor in the film 'Fists of Fury' which won a Gracie award for Al Jazeera America in 2014 and he got the 42nd Annual Tele Award for his short documentary on Indian Acid attack survivor in 2021. His recent film got the best documentary film award at the 14th International Documentary and Short Film Festival of Kerala 2022. His stories range from science to politics and human rights issues. His coverage in India ranges from women's rights to politics and human rights issues.

It’s a hard life for dwarfs in India. They’re looked down upon everywhere they go. Many of them used to work in circuses as clowns. But 50 dwarves from Assam became part of the worlds only all dwarves theatre group called ‘Mirror’ – Thanks to Prabitra Rava. Today through theatre the Little actors have found respect, dignity & love. They’re now setting up a village with houses fit to themselves.
