But that was about 35 years ago. Today, many of those workers don’t have jobs. But as Wendy Agbo reports, their fortunes could change if one of the factories reopens.

Kofar Mata Dye Pits in Kano used to be the major attraction for tourists visiting the ancient city in North Central Nigeria. Over the years the Pit produced beautiful dyed materials with various styles and patterns that has become popular with tourists from Africa and Europe.
