I've worked for clients including The Telegraph, The Guardian, The Ford Foundation, SPANA, BBC Online, Verbatim, Go Pro, and China Daily. I received the HSBC student bursary award to enable me to study full time at Beijing Foreign Students University where I graduated with a Masters in Multimedia Journalism. Prior to that, I was working full-time as a photographer having graduated from Newport's renowned photography program where I learned the ropes on black and white film. I am a multimedia storyteller with a passion for social justice, humanity and beauty.

For the last decade, experienced climbers and mountaineers from all over the world as well as Sherpas and others who live and work in the Nepalese Himalaya have been warning that increasing temperatures mean that more ice is melting and more snow is falling than usual. This results in worse weather for expeditions to some of the worlds highest places and an increased risk of deadly avalanches.

Long before any recorded pandemic, an ancient civilisation in Nepal used a little-known system of quarantine. It was a standard cultural practice for people to self-isolate nearly a thousand years ago. The rule was used to contain and prevent the transmission of infectious diseases in crowded urban environments.
