BIO MOHAMED GULEID Mohamed Guleid has over 20 years of experience in development issues in Arid and Semi-Arid areas in Eastern Africa and the Horn of Africa. He has a Masters's degree in Cultural Anthropology from the Free University of Amsterdam and wrote his dissertation on a study aimed at establishing the market participation of pastoralists with a view to improving their food security situation. His interests are particularly focused on resource use optimization in the drylands, environmental conservation and wise use of natural resources, environmental governance and equitable distribution of national and natural resources. Guleid’s research interests include the use and application of participatory research methodologies and capacity enhancement for rural communities, particularly in the ASAL counties. In addition to his professional undertakings, Guleid has been a regular columnist with a number of Kenyan daily newspapers. He is a regular contributor to the Standard News.
