On World Humanitarian Day, IRIN visits Millie Wonder, a rape survivor who gives self-defence training to schoolgirls in a Nairobi slum.
1.3 billion people don't have access to electricity across the world. Lesoi, a young Masaai woman, was one of them. Her family invested in a small solar lantern, a stop-gap that creates many more useable, productive hours in her day. Now, she feels her dream of becoming a doctor is just that much more attainable.
