About

Cinematographer and documentary filmmaker, Baraa began his journey in film and photography when he documented the uprising in his home country in 2011. Baraa’s work is heavily influenced by the culture and human stories from his personal background and experiences, and variety of work environments, including reporting from combat zones, human interest stories, and cinematography. As a dedicated human rights activist, Baraa worked with several NGOs in northwest Syria and southern Turkey, utilizing film and photography to document the humanitarian crisis. he believes that stories have the power to change, and he committed to using his craft to amplify the voices of those who need to be heard. Working as director of photography, Baraa shot feature documentaries, short series, and short films featured on outlets such as Al Jazeera, Al Araby, TRT World, TRT Arabi. His work has been screened at film festivals internationally.
