My name is Jay Denson and I'm a recent graduate of the Columbia School of Journalism. As a native New Yorker, I covered everything from Occupy Wall Street to Hurricane Sandy. My particular stories of interest are sports, health, fitness and Human Interest. For my Master Thesis, I covered the evolution of pole dancing and the popularity of the genre. I also covered the inauguration of CitiBike. Getting reaction from opponents and residents in favor of the project. I also did a profile on Captain Dave about the fishing decline in Sheepshead Bay Brooklyn, NY. I received honors during the 2012 Fall semester for that project. I follow the trends. I will hunt for stories that's most engaging to the community. What's popular? Why are they upset? How an event is affecting residents. That is my specialty.
