Situated on top of a magnificent alpine plateau, at 1815m above sea level, Chamois is Italy’s second highest city but it’s the first and only without cars. In 1955, the issue of environmental sustainability was not a popular concept yet. Nevertheless, the village of Chamois did not succumb to the impulses of progress and decided to build a cableway that is the only means of connection with the valley floor. A thing that the 99 inhabitants still claim with pride.

Capable of bringing out both the deepest sorrow and the purest joy, violins are known to close the gap between emotion and sound. An esteemed instrument across a range of music genres, not only do they sound enchanting but the art of making violins is equally captivating. Italy takes an undeniable lead in the tradition of making these stringed instruments. We visited Pucino Gaetano In Naples, Italy who has been making violins for 25 years.
