Jason Spyres ran into some trouble as a teenager and wound up in prison for possession. While there he studied all he could about engineering while maintaining a positive attitude about his future. Upon release he applied to universities around Illinois only to be rejected due to his criminal record. This short form documentary has Jason tell us about his experiences and the challenges he faced trying to get a pardon from the Illinois government so that he could pursue a productive and fulfilling life without crime. He was given a full scholarship to one of the best universities in America after he realized that Illinois had turned it's back on him.
