UAE: Middle East's first Ivory Crush destroys $20 million worth
The Dubai Ministry of Environment and Water crushed over 10 tonnes - $20 million worth (€18 million) of raw and crafted ivory to raise awareness about the elephant illegal trade in the Middle East's first ivory crush, in Dubai, Wednesday. Hundreds of spectators gathered to see workers using construction diggers to pulverise ivory at the al-Qusais landfill.
