He is a Spanish director and filmmaker with background as an electronics technician, industrial engineer (University of Alcalá, Spain) with a MSc in renewable energy and architecture (University of Nottingham, UK/China). He shifted his career towards filmmaking using state of the art equipment and techniques. As a result of his passion for sustainability, travel, nature, surfing, and his creative skills - his projects have been awarded by Madrid Drone Film Festival (Madrid, Spain), Interdrone Film Festival (Las Vegas, USA) among other international film festivals. His work has been presented in Televisión Española (major Spanish TV channel), Costa Rican TV and Red Bull. Marco is open, creative, kind and professional. Born and raised in Costa Rica, Valeria obtained a Licenciate degree in Film Production at Veritas University. She was a producer in the Cannes Award winning short film Follow the Frog in 2012, and ever since, she’s worked in different areas in film production that include 1st AD, Fixer and Production Manager. Valeria worked as an additional 2nd AD in Will Smith’s feature film shot in Costa Rica, After Earth, and as a production costume assistant in the James Bond film Quantum of Solace, shot in Panama. As a fixer, she has worked on numerous documentaries and reality shows produced by BBC travel, PBS, NBC, CNN Create and NRK TV, among others. She served as production manager for the BBC’s mini series, Stephen Fry in Central America: Costa Rica episode. She was also the producer in Hamish & Andy’s South America Gap Year, Costa Rica episode. Recently she was the fixer of the PBS documentary The Hummingbird Effect. She’s currently based in San José, Costa Rica.

Gordon Durnin has been involved in professional television production in Latin America, the Caribbean, Canada and the United States since 1987. Working as a self-employed freelancer and an employee of Al Jazeera English (for almost 9 years), Mr. Durnin has helped produce thousands of news, feature and documentary pieces for major networks worldwide. Highly developed technical skills in all aspects of ENG and Documentary production, together with fluency in Spanish, Portuguese and English and an intimate understanding of the history, geography and politics of the Americas make Mr. Durnin ideally suited to work in the field. A witness to the effects of war, the drug trade, poverty and natural disasters as well as the more recent rise of the political left in Latin America during the Bush and Obama Presidencies, Mr. Durnin remains one of the few journalists whose experience transcends post-Cold War “Globalisation” and whose knowledge of the roots and dimensions of current affairs provides deeper context and perspective in his reporting. Now based in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, Mr. Durnin continues to travel extensively throughout the Americas.

I have a degree in Advertising Design from Veritas University. With more than 10 years of independent experience in: image creation, advertising design, art direction, creativity, photography, audiovisual production, image and video editing and post-production. I am also an Official Ableton Certified Musician in Music Production from the Brooklyn Conservatory NYC. I have created mass communication content for national and international media. For example, the design of the logo and creation of the brand book of the last 2 governments of Costa Rica. Audiovisual projects for the Ministry of Transportation of Costa Rica, FAO, and GIZ. I have also created commercial content for international campaigns for brands such as Microsoft, UBER, BAC, and CEMEX. All these projects under the umbrella of various personal and collective ventures of which I have been a founding partner and/or director since 2011.
