Jialu is a Chinese media professional based in the Netherlands. At the age of 21 her documentary ‘Alive’ won the Best Documentary Awards in 7th Beijing International Collegiate Video & Film Festival and was screened in 29th VGIK in Russia and 23rd FIPA in France in 2009. From 2010 until 2014, she worked as the production manager for CCTV6 China Movie Channel, in charge of ‘World Film Report’ a weekly program & daily news production, featuring the diversity of the international cinema through on-site shooting and live coverage. In 1988 Gilles Frenken graduated at the National Film Academy in Amsterdam, the Netherlands, as a cameraman (D.o.P.), documentary film director and film editor. In the past 30 years he made, as a director with his camera on his shoulder or tripod, about 150 tv documentaries and films. Some of these films were broadcasted in more than 50 countries. As a cameraman Gilles Frenken worked for various film directors, and made more than 100 documentary films in more than 100 different countries. Some of these films won first prizes on various film festivals. As a director and D.o.P., he also made a movie, 'Little Treasures of Lombok'. This film about streetchildren in Indonesia, filmed without a budget, has been seen by more than 4.7 million people on YouTube. Moniek Wester Keegstra is an independent filmmaker at Monkee Films She has been working as director, self-directing camerawoman and editor since 1995. Moniek directed for Dutch Television and her film ‘Gaza, Gabbers, Graffity’ was nominated for “Prix d’Europe” (Berlin, 1997), Danube Festival (Bratislava,1998), Cinekid (Amsterdam,1998) and Basic Trust (Tel Aviv, 2000). In 2002 she became part of the ‘26000 Faces’ TV/Online film project http://nl.wikipedia.org/wiki/26.000_gezichten about asylum seekers in the Netherlands. Renowned filmmakers directed 99 short film portraits about asylum seekers who had been living for longer than 7 years in the Netherlands and still did not know if they could stay. Moniek directed the short film Sarah (2004) which was screened at the IDFA festival. The ‘26000 Faces’ project influenced Dutch politics deeply. Since then internet and documentary have become her passion. Moniek is interested in how the internet can reclaim a filmmaker’s freedom to tell the stories that they consider important. In 2006 she started the new-media ‘Lifeboat: HIV – Daring to Share’ Project, won the Digital Academy Prize for Innovating New Media projects in 2009 (http://www.lifeboatfilms.org) Besides her independent film work, Moniek Wester Keegstra works in commission for NGO’s such as Medicines Sans Frontiers, Oxfam Novib as self directing camerawoman, editor and producer. I'm a young motivated journalist with a rich knowledge in Middle East foreign affairs.
