Tom Wang is a video journalist and documentary filmmaker based in China. From 2016 to 2023, he served as the sole videographer in the Beijing bureau of the South China Morning Post (SCMP), producing news videos and short documentaries focused on the lives of ordinary Chinese people. In this role, Wang handled all aspects of the production process, from research and pitching to shooting, scriptwriting, and editing. His short documentary series about China's "Ice Boy" touched hearts worldwide, garnering over 15 million views on YouTube and earning the Excellence in Video Reporting award from the Society of Publishers in Asia (SOPA). His short documentary about China's missing children was also nominated for the 2022 Beverly Hills Film Festival.
