Ana María Ariza is a journalist and photojournalist. Graduated in television and radio production with a communications minor from Miami Dade College, where she received a nomination for best final project. Ariza holds a journalism degree from New York University (NYU). She earned a professional and documentary photography certification from Zona Cinco in Bogotá, D.C.
Ana María excels in reporting, interviewing, and documentary filmmaking, covering indigenous communities, overcoming poverty, social and gender equality, gender-based violence, global health, war zones, migration, forced displacement, ex-combatants, armed and post-conflict phenomena. Ana María´s documentary "Caminates: Human Stories That Cross Borders" has earned official selections and nominations from prestigious film festivals including the Barcelona Human Rights Film Festival 2022, McMinnville Short Film Festival 2023, Madrid Film Awards (MADFA) 2023, LA Latinx Film Festival 2023, and a winner at the Madrid International Film Festival 2023.
