"I have been working as a video journalist in the field of journalism for 10 years. My specialty is telling stories through my camera, and I really enjoy editing my material. After almost two years reporting in Caracas, Venezuela for print media, I've recently began collaborating with my colleague, Jesus Olarte, to produce video for an English speaking audience. I've written for and contributed to a variety of publications -- including The Miami Herald, The New York Times and The Christians Science Monitor -- about the recent election cycle, death of Hugo Chávez and its aftermath. I'm keen to use my reporting experience to cover compelling stories and narratives as Venezuelans transition into a country without Chávez. I'm particularly interested in how citizens and local business cope with the country's stumbling economy, individual activism and human rights as well as the cult still surrounding Chávez.
