Most recently, Amazon tapped me to direct an Amazon Original, La Semanal, which is Amazon Music's first Latin podcast and live show. Along with the EP from Amazon Music Latin, I ideated, designed and produced this podcast/live show from pre-production to publishing. In order to capture the full essence of the Latin music world, the production took many forms throughout the process. We hired a host on both the east and west coast, and 30+ producers and editors working across several time zones to help bring this multilayered production to life. La Semanal records in person, remotely, and live, and it is available on several platforms, including the Amazon Music App. I also the lead in creative oversight and distribution strategy, establishing several workflows for this production to be successful. The show garnered millions of views across all platforms.
During 2021 and onward, I work as at Univision as Senior Multimedia Producer for their News department. My role entails ideating, producing and editing videos as needed to help achieve Univision’s video view goals both on O&O and other social media sites. I worked on short form series and long form segments, including a feature on the Surfside tragedy, which is up for several awards, like the Webby’s, Emmy’s and APJ. I also produced the Univisionario’s digital video campaign, which was a first time Univision production and tent-pole. We sold the Univisionario videos to different brands as sponsored content, including brands like Walmart and Amazon Prime. I also directed a special called Localismo, a collaborated production with Meta.
In 2019, NBCUniversal Telemundo Enterprises brought me in to launch #ForTheCultura on Quibi, one of Telemundo's first original shows designed for mobile, in English. I designed and executed a digital editorial strategy, one which represented Latinx entertainment & pop culture, aligning with our partners at Quibi. Aside from daily creative oversight, I also hired & supervised a team of 15+ producers and editors in their performance of all their daily workflows. In order to maximize our brand's influence, I identified and developed additional growth strategies, which included developing new content franchises based on insights from our audience.
At the start of my corporate career in 2015, I joined Univision Communication within News as a senior visual journalist, focusing on politics and immigration. While in News, my team produced and sold the "Haciendola" creative video campaign to Dish Latino and earned a National Emmy nomination for the documentary "JDF 16". A film about the life of the Florida Marlins pitcher who died in a boating accident on September 25, 2016. I transitioned during my tenure into a senior producer role in Entertainment, where my team ideated and delivered several original productions, along with Hispanic creative partnerships campaigns for the likes of Rolls Royce, The Walt Disney Company, Walmart, Universal Music, Nissian & Toyota. I also created a special investigation series around Selena Quintnilla's death, accessing and documenting never-before-seen evidence with the Nueces County District Attorney's Office. During my time with Univision, the documentary "La Guerrera del Genero" earned me a second Emmy nomination for my work.
