Aurélie Fontaine is a freelance multimedia journalist based in Kinshasa, Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC). After completing her studies, she worked as a reporter in Senegal and Ivory Coast. She has worked with RTS (Radio Télévision Suisse), RTBF (Radio Télévision Belge Francophone), BBC Afrique, Médi 1 (Morrocan Francophone Radio), Radio Canada, Jeune Afrique, Le Soir, Libération, Ouest-France, Rue89, Anadolu (Turkish press agency) and BFM TV in France. In 2012, she co-founded the reporters collective Bégué Press, whose objective is to produce radio, TV, web and written content about West Africa.
