Zala Opara works as a film producer since 2014, she is a graduate of Film at Falmouth University and is in the process of finalizing her masters of Ethnology and Cultural Anthropology. She worked on international productions in the UK, Netherlands and Slovenia. She currently works with Vertigo, Ljubljana, Slovenian production company known for over 40 awarded films since its creation in 1994. The 2017 produced film titled My Last Year as A Looser (2018) won the best film award for the 2018 Festival of Slovenian Film, and many other awards. Currently, Vertigo, as the majority coproducer has two films in the distribution and two in the pre-production and is also collaborating on several films in distribution and pre-production as a minority coproducer. Since Zala started working with Vertigo, she worked on the production of three features and one literary documentary series and is attached to a project since its early development stage. I am a Slovenian citizen, born in 1979. Since 2001 I have been working as an investigative journalist, Middle East and Africa correspondent and a filmmaker. I started my career on Radio Student in Ljubljana and then went on to work for national weekly Mladina and Slovenian edition of Le Monde Diplomatique. Between 2012 and 2015 I was working for national public television RTV SLO. Throughout the years I was reporting mainly from the following countries and regions: East Timor, Afghanistan, Uzbekistan, Georgia, Armenia, Iran, Iraq, Syria, Turkey (Kurdistan), Palestine (Gaza), Egypt, South Sudan, Libya, Algeria and Western Sahara. For RTV SLO I made two documentary films, The Coalition of Hatred (Koalicija sovraštva; 2014) and Frontlines of Kurdistan (Fronte Kurdistana; 2015). The Coalition of Hatred, which dealt with neonazi and racist groups in Slovenia, their international relations and connections with the biggest Slovenian right-wing party SDS, was commended by CIRCOM in the category ‘Investigative journalism’ in May 2015 in Dundalk, Ireland. Frontlines of Kurdistan, which I filmed during some of the worst clashes between Kurds and Islamic state members in Iraq and Syria, received an award for ‘Outstanding accomplishment’ by Slovenian Association of Journalists in November 2015. Since then I have been a freelance filmmaker. In cooperation with Slovenian film production company Staragara and RTV SLO I filmed and directed two documentaries about Assyrian/Syriac communities in South-East Turkey and Iraq. The first one is titled The Three Holy Ones (Troje svetih; 2017). It tells the story about three monasteries (they are among the oldest in the world) and their adjacent Christian communities. The second, titled Guardians of Civilization (Varuhi civilizacije; 2018), features a story about a young Assyrian sculptor and his father, an esteemed Iraqi artist, who want to renovate ancient statues that were destroyed by islamists. I also took part in the documentary The Weight of Chains (Težina lanaca; 2010) and starred in another one, titled Chaos of the World (Kaos sveta; 2014). I also wrote three books: a non-fiction one, titled Gaza under siege (Obleganje Gaze; 2011) and two novels Shadows don’t burn (Sence ne gorijo; 2015) and Death for Life (Smrt za življenje; 2017). I continue to film in the Middle East and I am currently expanding my field of work into Western Africa. I am also part of organizational team behind Kranjska Gora International Film Festival, which we started in 2016.

Filmmaker, photographer, traveller and anthropologist. With the help of a camera, he documents people's lives and their stories, which are defined by various cultural patterns and customs. As a multimedia engineer, he acquired his knowledge at the Multimedia Academy and Institute in Ljubljana. He continued with his studies at the Middlesex University in London, where he graduated in 2009. An enormous interest for the factors that shape different civilizations and lives of individuals, and the complex aspects of human interactions, led him to apply for the international studies of cultural diversity and transnational processes at the Faculty of Arts in Ljubljana and at the Universidad Autónoma in Barcelona, where he graduated with honours in 2015, and obtained the tittle European Joint Master of Social and Cultural Visual Anthropology. In his visually rich documentary opus, Miha Mohorič reveals the themes with anthropological and ethnographic characteristics. In his movies, he focuses particularly on overlooked social and cultural themes. He is and exceptional observer, who records the unspoken and the unheard with the sensible eye of a camera, and with it integrates the artistic aesthetic into the documentary film. Currently he is active in the production of the movie about the victims of war in Turkey, Iraq and Syria and is the co-funder of Kranjska Gora International Film Festival.

Jure Kreft was born in Ljubljana, Slovenia in 1993. He first met with professional filmmaking in 2009 when he played one of main roles in successful Slovenian film Going Our Way. At his time he also started to experiment with his own film projects. In 2014, while studying philosophy, he got a job as a scriptwriter for children’s show Studio Kriškraš on Slovenian national television. In 2014 he also met a team of students of most well-known Slovenian film school (AGRFT). In 2015 they established their own production company – Fixmedia. Since then he produced a few award winning short films, music videos and TV commercials. He is now specialized for television and commercial production services in Slovenia

I'm a 32 y/o video creator from Slovenia. I started my career after high school as a cameraman/editor at a student television. Later on I got accepted as a cameraman on leading commercial TV production company in Slovenia (POPTV) where I worked on big projects such as: Masterchef Slovenia, Slovenia's got talent etc. After 2 years of gaining experience, I decided to go on my own path.
