As photographer and videographer I have worked since 2012 for several NGOs like Peace Boat, Retrak.org, WWF Colombia, Unicef Cambodia, etc, and also some corporate events and tour companies in around the world, where I have had the opportunity to travel to some remote locations in order to plan the shooting, develop the scripts on the ground, shoot with a variety of hight quality gear, edit and deliver the final products for several purposes such as promotional tools, crowdfunding, social causes and documentaries. My previous experience to the photography world was in advertising for about 10 years, and it is a plus when creating and developing shooting plans for my clients to achieve an specific goal or target. Tom Laffay is a visual journalist, DP and director specializing in working on long term projects in Latin America bringing a cinematic look with journalistic rigor. Currently based in Colombia, he has been dedicated to covering the ongoing violence against human rights defenders over the course of the country's troubled peace process since 2016 and frequently shoots for media like ARD Germany, El Espectador and contributes to The Atlantic and The Guardian. Tom is bilingual (English / Spanish) and travels extensively producing short documentary films for New Media Advocacy Project and IUCN in South America, Africa and the US and since 2011 he has worked with La Isla Network to advance improvements in the agricultural labor sector in Central America. Recently he has begun working as a DP on more narrative films for directors Sean Mattison, Emily Wright and Antonio Santini and is interested in pursuing that path. Tom lives in Bogota, Colombia and is available for assignments in the Americas and just about anywhere else.

Hi I'm Angélica Toro. I'm a pianist and a filmmaker and live in Medellín,Colombia. Four years ago I co-founded the production company DeMente Fotográfica now Plano Gorilla. Echoes of the sea, our first documentary short film, was awarded as Best Documentary Short Film on the DocLa Los Angeles Documentary Short Film Festival, and Best Short Film in the 12th Annual Huntington Beach SoCal Film Festival in the United States. Was also showcased in Germany, Canada and Colombia. I think that Colombia is the country of stories, where there's a lot to show that the world hasn't seen yet. Since 2017 my production company has been developing videos for Ozy.com where we've been shooting from the simplest stories, to ones with people that can change the world through their ideas and their work. Laura Otálora (Bogotá, Colombia, 1989) is a visual anthropologist and documentary filmmaker. Early in her career she made documentaries for international organizations in Africa, Europe, Asia and the Americas. In 2018, her first feature film, "Chef's Diaries: Scotland", won Best Documentary in Girona and was selected in several festivals such as Malaga, Seattle and Edinburgh, available on Amazon Prime Video and Filmin. In 2021, she wrote and directed two episodes of "Distil Your World" on Amazon Prime Video and the documentary series "Vivas" (MinTIC). In 2024, her documentary "De Colombia pa'l Mundo" premiered on HBOmax. She is currently directing her second feature film "Capitán" and the series "Impermanence", is content director at the "Apichatpong Weerasethakul Lab" and professor at the National Film School (ENACC).
