Alexandra Bas is a Mexico City based cinematographer from Venezuela, ICFC member, with experience in narrative and documentary films; currently working in several projects of music videos and commercials in the mexican industry. Among her short films highlights "Daughter Whore", which was part of the International Competition of Short Shorts Film Festival & Asia 2013 (qualifier for the annual Academy Awards®), also selected in 18 international film festivals, where it was awarded 4 international awards and 6 on the national level. Alexandra participated as cinematographer in the short film "Eva" Official Selection in three category A Film Festivals at 2015: Moscow International Film Festival (World Premiere), Mar de Plata Film Festival and Montreal World Film Festival/Student Film Festival. Alexandra was one of the cinematographers selected for TALENTS BUENOS AIRES 2014 and then, she participated in the project KINOMADA Lanaudière 2015 in Canada, where she filmed the cinematography for three short films with several Latino American directors: "Aquel martes de Otoño" by Jeremy Hatcher (Chile), "Salitre" by Lara Belov (Brazil) & Carlos Mendoza (Mexico) and, "Le dicen amor" by Paulina Dana (Argentina). In Algeria, she filmed the documentary feature film "Cilima" by Aissa Djouamaa, shooting at the same time three narrative short films with different directors as part of the same project. In Mexico City, she made the cinematography of the short films: “Mateo” by Fernando Pérezgil, Official Selection in Trieste Science+Fiction Festival 2019 and nominated to Best Cinematography in Pantalla de Cristal Awards 2019; as well as “Un mundo raro” by Eugenia Llaguno, currently in post production. Alexandra was one of the Facultad de Cine’s founder teachers, where she taught Cinematography I. Among her future projects is the narrative feature film “Sembradoras” by the colombian director Christian Mejía, whose teaser was filmed in the Chilean desert.

I was born and raised in the chaotic Mexico City, during my teenage years growing up, I had the concerned to find a way to express myself and I find it through the power of imagination in photography and filmmaking. Studied Communication Sciences at the Universidad Iberoamericana with a specialty in Cinema and an exchange studies at the Universitat Pompeu Fabra in Barcelona in the faculty of Audiovisual Communication. Awarded Cinematographer / Director / Producer in Documentaries and films in general. From Argentina but based in Mexico City since 23 years ago. Member of the Mexican Society of Cinematographers (AMC) The films in which I have collaborated, both in Cinematography and as Director, have been exhibited in renowned international film festivals, also in film theatres and cultural halls of America, Europe and Australia such as The Lincoln Center in New York, the Museum of Fine Arts of Houston, the Reina Sofía Museum of Madrid, the San Martín Cultural Center in Buenos Aires and The Museum of Modern Art in New York. I mainly do feature length documentary and fiction films. I have DP and directed TV and commercial content. The films in which I have worked on have been premiered at internationally renowned film festivals such as Toronto International Film Festival TIFF, Sundance Film Festival, International Film Festival of Marrakech, IDFA, International Festival of Cartagena de Indias FICCI, San Sebastián International Film Festival, SxSW, Down Town Los Angeles IFF, DOCSMX and Morelia International Film Festival FICM, among others. My work as cinematographer has been awarded for the films Palabras Mágicas/Magic Words (2012) by Mercedes Moncada (Mexican Society of Cinematographers Prize at DocsMX IFF), Guerrero (2017) by Ludovic Bonleux (Crystal Screen Award for Best Documentary Cinematography) and Bosque de Niebla/Cloud Forrest (2017) by Mónica Álvarez Franco (Best Cinematography Prize at Down Town Los Angeles International Film Festival). Nominated for the Silver Ariel Award of the Mexican Academy of Cinema Arts and Sciences for Best Documentary, in 2014, for El Alcalde, which I have co-directed with Emiliano Altuna; and Nominated for the Silver Ariel Award in 2019 for Best Cinematography for my work in La Camarista/The Cambermaid de Lila Avilés, 2018. I have accumulated experience filming in a wide variety of territories and circumstances in different areas of Argentina, the United States, Cuba, Nicaragua, Germany, Mexico, Guatemala. Every year, fortunately and since 2002, I am invited to share my film experience both in film schools and traditional universities and giving workshops, courses and inside alternative/non-traditional education programs. I have been invited to advise and follow up on film works in development within grant programs in various academic, promotional and development efforts from governmental and private initiatives. ablo Benjamín Nieto Mercado (Mexico City, 1979) is an engineer and multimedia producer with a remarkable career that merges technology and creativity. His experience in the technological field includes roles as Project Leader and Consultant in Electronic Payment Methods at companies such as Punto Clave - EDENRED, Optima Technology, and SwitchGATE. With expertise in the design of transactional and bank correspondent architectures, he has led key projects such as the management system for gasoline voucher cards and the development of the ISO 8583 Switch and Transactional Core for Edenred, strategically connecting banks with retail stores. In the cinematic and cultural sphere, Pablo has stood out with a wide range of audiovisual and experimental productions. His work encompasses twenty albums, fourteen installations, thirty short films, and the feature film "The Basin of the Stone Rivers," with which he participated in Bolivia Lab 2016, winning the Pitch Award for Latin American Projects. This feature film has received support from institutions such as Bolivia Lab and IMCINE in 2016, FONCA in 2017, and Doc Society in 2020. "The Basin of the Stone Rivers" has been selected in international film festivals and showcases, such as the AHORA Festival in Montevideo, Uruguay; Arthaus Winter Film Exhibition in Havana, Cuba; Humano CECUT Festival in Tijuana; Fragmented Image Encounter at the Autonomous University of Querétaro; and the UACM Tezonco Book Festival. Additionally, it has won first place at the Tukuru 2020 Film Festival and has been recognized and featured in international festivals. Pablo has also gained recognition for his short film "Bodies of Water," selected in 2019 at GEOFILMFESTIVAL in Cittadella, Italy; Video Art Forum in Dammam, Saudi Arabia; The Itinerant Cinema of La Bête Rouss in France; Docs Buenos Aires; and FICMA 5.0. His Webdoc ATL received first place at the 2020 Image Encounter "New Documentaries" at the Autonomous University of Querétaro and was selected by Art Hole magazine in London. In 2021, WebDoc ATL participated in the interactive exhibition "The Castle" at Arthousehaus in London and the DigitalKunst Festival in Stuttgart, Germany. Additionally, his short film "Invasion" was presented at the Cinema di Cefalù Festival, FilmÓptico, Music Maker Festival, Miradas Locales, Mexican Cinema Day, and the collective exhibition "Conceiving, Naming, Saying" at the Centro de la Imagen. His sound production includes works edited on netlabels such as Noise Entertaiment (MEX), Paax (MEX), Torn Flesh Records (USA), Surrism-Phonoethics (DEU), Plasticrane (ITA), Intox Noise (RUS), WakuShoppu (CZE), Editora du Porto (BRA), and Anything Records (JPA).
