After graduating from Creighton University in Omaha, I moved back to my hometown of Kansas City to join Time Warner Cable SportsChannel, formerly known as Metro Sports. I started as the high school freelance sideline reporter before working full-time in Lincoln, Nebraska, where I spent three and a half years reporting on the Cornhuskers and Omaha Storm Chasers. Wherever the Huskers were, I was close behind. In June 2014, TWC transferred me back to KC where I spent the majority of my time covering the Kansas Jayhawks, Kansas City Chiefs, Kansas City Royals and local KC high school athletics. Whether it was reporting about the Kansas City Chiefs’ first playoff victory in two decades or bringing Royals fans inside the clubhouse for a rowdy World Series celebration 29 years in the making, I loved every minute of being a sports reporter. In January 2017, my husband and I moved to St. Paul, Minnesota and I opened my own company, Falco Creative Media, a video production company. My ultimate goal is to capture and create innovative, unique video marketing content that makes my clients happy. I am dedicated to translating your vision into exceptional, compelling video that reaches and engages with your target audience. I am a freelance journalist based in Minneapolis, currently researching stories relating to counter-extremism and terror recruiting. I'm very interested in the federal government's various initiatives to deal with national security issues in Minneapolis, and what that means for local Muslim and refugee populations in terms of civil liberties, surveillance and community engagement. My past work has included stories about the uprising in Bahrain, which I traveled to in 2013, and global intersections between international affairs and local social justice movements in Minnesota. My work has appeared in Al Jazeera America, Huffington Post, Your Middle East, Muftah Magazine and Twin Cities Daily Planet.

Georgia Fort is a two time Emmy nominated Media Producer and Television Correspondent. Her reporting has been published on CNN, ABC, NBC, Fox and CBS affiliates. Her mission as a storyteller is to amplify truth, inspire, inform and agitate change. Most recently she produced a short documentary “George Floyd: It Happened Here”, which amplifies the voices of individuals who are from the neighborhood where George Floyd was killed. Prior to that Fort, co-directed and edited the award winning documentary “Rondo: Beyond the Pavement” which is no available on Amazon Prime. Outside of media, she’s in the process of changing maternity leave laws in Minnesota after losing her job as an anchor because she wasn’t eligible for FMLA. A true advocate for change, the Minnesota native has over a decade of broadcast experience that spans from public radio government television to national commercial television broadcasting. As a journalist she publicly explored her passion for philanthropy and community involvement by a giving a visual platform to the stories and individuals that continuously shape her community. Her coverage of a controversial officer involved shooting was nominated for an Emmy and received honorable mention by the Southeast Chapter of the National Academy of Television. Before her promotion as an anchor, Georgia was the court and crime reporter for the ABC and Fox affiliates in Columbus, GA where she covered gruesome murder trials and uncovered a series of investigative pieces. Georgia graduated from the University of St. Thomas where she advocated for student parents and diversity inclusion. She has three daughters and is married to boxing gym owner and professional boxer, Cerresso Fort. In 2007, after her oldest daughter passed away, she became an Ambassador for Faith’s Lodge, a non-profit that provides wellness retreats for parents who have lost a child. Internally, her resilience is the catalyst that allows her to continuously reshape her own narrative as she outwardly advocates to change the narrative for the black community.
