1 reviewAdnelly Marichal is a filmmaker, producer, and photographer based in Northern California. She most recently served as a Director and Field Producer for the second season of PBS's America Outdoors with Baratunde Thurston. Previously, she has worked on a variety of feature films and television projects, taking her from Guatemala for a whirlwind cooking show for Nat Geo (coming out in Spring 2024) to Switzerland to produce a re-enactment of a commune that may have been the birthplace of the anti-abortion movement in the US. Some highlights include filming the reintroduction of beavers in the UK for Wild Hope, a show highlighting the intrepid changemakers who are restoring our wild places, and directing Business Insider's 2-part video series, and The Well Designed Life, featuring the prodigious talents of two female-led architectural firms. Before that, she worked as a Story Producer for National Geographic and Imagine Entertainment on Ron Howard's Emmy-nominated feature documentary, We Feed People, about the work of World Central Kitchen and José Andrés. She is currently in post-production on Las Jíbaras, a documentary on two generations of Puerto Rican women farmers choosing to fight for food sovereignty while also taking on independent producing projects. As an independent producer, she has worked on projects with National Geographic, Imagine Entertainment, NBC, and Newsy, among others. She has been featured in The New York Times and Public Radio International's Living on Earth. Her documentary photography has appeared in CNN, Eater, and Mitú, among others. She holds a BA in American Studies from Wesleyan University.
