I’m a Rwandan journalist who has earned commendation for excellence in producing compelling coverage and in-depth analysis of issues affecting ordinary citizens in Rwanda, the wider East Africa. I focus mostly on matters business, conflict, politics and human rights and, more broadly as well, in the areas of governance and development. Her recent documentary “Blue Devil” has won the Knight Award for Best reporting in Science and Environment, also got nominated as Best Short Documentary at Pan Africa Film Festival, Montreal Black Film Festival, and San Diageo Black Film Festival. TD JACK MUHINDO born in 1979 at Kanyabayonga ( Democratic Republic of Congo) I live in Goma. In 2008 after my primary and secondary studies in teaching department, I was interested in using the camera so, I got the opportunity of participating in workshops on filmmaking in Goma held by Yole Africa. The time I got involved in making videos, in 2009 I started working on my first videos. I have worked in MASS’s Kigali Office from March 2019 to August 2020 as a Filmmaker. I was documenting the progress of the Ellen DeGeneres Campus of the Dian Fossey Gorilla Fund along with several other projects. Prior to joining MASS, I spent the last six years as a freelancer engaging with the Rwandan film and television industry as a writer, producer, editor, and photographer. I have worked for a number of companies and individuals including the Rwanda Broadcast Agency, Tour du Rwanda, Sony Ivory Coast, Coca Cola,... Before moving back to his native country of Rwanda, Philippe was based in Toronto, Canada as a freelance photographer where he had spent 10 years studying and working. Having had his work featured in local magazines, shooting portraits, covering many fashion shows, and working with a few renowned photographers in Toronto’s high-end fashion industry, Philippe decided to relocate to Rwanda to rediscover his country, his continent, and to contribute to an ever-growing creative industry.
