Ashley Jiang (she/they) is a documentary filmmaker from Shanghai, China. Her work focuses on the intersection of gender, sexuality and race. She’s the founder of OutChina (www.ChinaLGBT.org), a media advocacy NGO that spotlights and humanizes China's LGBTQ community. Her videos have gained millions of views globally. After graduating from University of Southern California, Ashley brought her international perspective to The Advocate, America's longest-running LGBTQ publication. She has later worked at Reuters, Voice of America and PBS in Los Angeles and New York. She has also produced videos for Red Bull’s Global Dance Network in Austria.
