Wali Arian, I am an award-winning journalist. Having obtained a BA in Journalism from Kabul University in 2007, since 2007 I worked for several large Afghan media houses including Kabul-based TOLO TV, ToloNews – part of MOBY group – and TV1, where my reporting has focused on producing documentaries, investigative reports and features focusing on conflict and politics. I am the recipient of at least four awards for my work as a journalist. Among them, I received the Afghan Journalist Safety Committee’s Elite Journalist Award 2014 for my documentary "Home of war Helmand" reporting on the war in Helmand province. Most recently, I was among 12 journalists awarded a medal of valour by President Ashraf Ghani to mark World Press Freedom Day 2016. I am currently based in EU and I work as freelancer journalist.

Moises Anaya (1987) was born in Tulancingo, a small city northeast of Mexico City. He studied advertising and is self-taught in film through jobs as a director, editor, and cinematographer on productions for media outlets like NETFLIX, VICE Media, National Geographic, Discovery Channel, various non-profit organizations, and brands like Johnnie Walker, Stella Artois, Coca-Cola Family, NTS and RA. In 2014 he was part of the art project Labor in a Single Shot by Harun Farocki and Antje Ehmann. That same year his short film RAMOS won the jury award of the Docs MX Challenge, and in 2015 he took a directing course at the New York Film Academy, where he was mentored by Director Jonathan Whittaker. As a director, Moises’ short films have been part of festivals such as; Dublin Doc Fest, Docs MX, ICARO Festival of Central America, Short Films Screening China International New Media (CSFF), Zanate Festival, Clermont-Ferrand Short Film Festival, and Mix Film Festival, among others. In 2019 he collaborated with a production company in Nepal and was part of the Kaalo 101 artist residency in Kathmandu. His current documentary project about the bullfighter Lorenzo Garza Gaona was part of the Zanate residency and Plataforma MX in 2019 and the CAAP workshop in 2021. He is now developing his first feature film.

Jonathan Saruk is a Blake Street Films cinematographer and producer who has created video content for the likes of ARTE, 3SAT, UNH­CR, BBC, Al Jazeera, The Great Big Story, ORF, and and has worked on corporate productions for S.A.P., Sony Ericsson, E.ON, and Unibail-Rodamco. He was Director of Photography on the recent feature length documentary Truth Detectives, commissioned by German public broadcaster WDR/ARTE. His still images have been published in The New Yorker, Newsweek and The Sunday Times Magazine, and his first monograph, The Forbidden Reel, was selected as one of the best photo­graphy books of 2014 by Time Magazine. Greg Simons was born in Christchurch, New Zealand. Greg graduated with a PhD (University of Canterbury, 2004), in 2015 became Associate Professor at the Department of Government, Uppsala University. Greg Simons is currently a lecturer at the Department of Communication Science at Turiba University in Riga, Latvia.
