  Mike is an unbelievable storhunter + storyteller. The Weather Channel continues to hire him and drop him in flooded states where people are hiding from the weather. Somehow, Mike Shum finds these people tucked away in homes, brings them out to tell their stories and the results are incredible. A particular favorite this time was a couple in Ocean City, MD who had traveled to a wine festival which was cancelled from Hurricane Joaquin. Kudos to Mike for telling their story, shooting it beautifully and continuing to find compelling, visual, digital stories for the weather channel.

  Mike is so good at what he does. Not only is he a great videojournalist, he is researched and asks the right questions. He's a pleasure to work with and always finds the best stories. He also works extremely hard and even in storm situations is an excellent communicator. I would highly recommend Mike Shum for any of your projects. Thanks, Mandy Carranza

  Mike was a joy to work with. Our team really appreciated his hard work ethic, and his amazing attitude throughout the shoot. He was very accommodating, flexible and a great team player. He produced solid footage and sound and there is no doubt we would definitely work with him again. If only we had more shoots in Colorado!
