About

I started as a TV news reporter. Later I freelanced to local and regional platforms as a multimedia journalist. I initiated ‘On the scene’ at Media.am, a series of short documentaries portraying journalists covering demonstrations. Together with my friend, we produced our first film, ‘How to Cross (from Jiliz to Jiliz)’ that premiered at the Hot Docs film festival. We filmed our second documentary ‘Murat’ in Istanbul. I did the Ethnographic and Documentary Filmmaking MA program at UCL, and I produced my third film, ‘Separated’. Since September 2020, I have been teaching video journalism in Hetq Media Factory.
