About
Combining music and image has always been my dream. I'm extremely fortunate that my dream is now an everyday reality and I look forward to each day with a sense of passion and purpose in what I do.I get to work on really interesting, groundbreaking stories, wonderful images and to portray a huge emotional palette through music.
My history has been diverse - spanning twenty five years plus as a musician and composer, with over twelve albums under my belt, numerous projects as composer, musical director, sound designer and performer in arts as diverse as theatre, dance, live music, circus, film and television...Starting out as a musician at the age of four, I've learned to play a variety of musical instruments - keyboards, guitar, bass guitar, lap steel guitar, flute, recorder, didgeridoo, African and Egyptian percussion.
I've also had the opportunity to learn the ancient and complex art of classical Indian vocals, having studied under the tutelage of Neeta Bhattacharyya and Maestro Sarangan Sriranganathan. I've also completed a Masters Degree in Screen Music at the Australian Film, TV and Radio School - a great time of learning and solidifying my craft.I am now fortunate enough to teach 'World Music for the Screen' and 'Music for Documentary' at AFTRS to emerging screen composers.
