La Beauté & Style salon created history in September 2021 when it opened as India’s first salon run by transgender men. The owner, Aryan Pasha, 30, is a lawyer, activist and India’s first transgender male bodybuilder. He opened the salon to create a space where trans people would feel comfortable requesting beauty treatments. The series of portraits and documentary photographs were a unique challenge in this assignment for The Guardian.
The assignment led to an interesting coverage of the last polio ward in st Stephen’s hospital in Delhi, India and commemorating the world polio day, the detailed commissioned shoot allowed me to capture the importance of immunization and vaccination in India. Rotary’s positive approach and participation has made a huge change in health and awareness sector in India.
My recent photos and videos around Yamuna followed by in depth reportage for NRC newspaper brings an irregular ecological attention around the river body. Making this story a unique approach and read!
