Our clients include both traditional (BBC, AJE, NBC, Bloomberg) and online broadcasters (BBC Future, BBC Reel, BBC Ideas, TED-ED), universities (Oxford, UCL, Northwestern), charities and NGOs (Wellcome Trust, New America). We tell stories through animations, motion graphics and documentaries – often in combination – to create unique, innovative narratives that inspire, educate and entertain. One year after Russia‘s invasion of Ukraine, Richard Engel journeyed to Kherson to document the stories of ordinary civilians who bravely joined an underground resistance to help liberate their city o from Russian occupation. Richard Engel and team turned to Pomona Pictures to help bring to life these extra-ordinary stories through bespoke hand-drawn animations.
Science journalist Melissa Hogenboom goes on a three month-long, intensive, mind-altering course in this quirky science documentary for for BBC World and BBC Reel. Pomona Pictures covered the production in Sicily, edit, branding and graphics.
Over that past few years we’ve had the pleasure of working with multimedia journalist and filmmaker Ali Rae on the multi-award winning series “All Hail…” for Al Jazeera. Following the success of the first two seasons (#1 Algorithms & #2 Lockdown) this third season looks at how social, economic and political forces have shaped our response to the climate breakdown. We were charged with the branding and content graphics for this very urgent and compelling series.
