I grew up hunting, fishing, backpacking and hiking between Northern California and Idaho. After high school I served four years in the US Coast Guard, then in 2009 completed a BA in Journalism from San Francisco State University. I'm currently a freelance journalist, photographer and videographer based in Oakland, contributing to Redux Pictures, Washington Post, Wall Street Journal, New York Times, San Francisco Chronicle and other local and national publications, as well as producing work for corporate and commercial clients.

Official Selection, WaterDocs Film Festival and SF IndieFest Film Festival. California's groundwater has never been regulated before 2014, and overdraft of the aquifers threatens one of the world's most important food producing region, the Central Valley. Efforts are underway to replenish the water below ground, but further research is needed to ensure safety for all the communities that rely on groundwater.
