It tooks months of fixing, negotiating with Peru's culture ministry to get access to this remote part of the Amazon. We got incredible access and worked hard to get every angle of this complex and fascinating story
Persistent and dogged reporting, overcoming obstacles in the field and the lack of an official response. We were harassed while shooting. The story earned an Honourable Mention in the 2016 Society of Environmental Journalists' Outstanding Features Category.
