Among the artists he has worked with: Tim McGraw, Carrie Underwood, ZZ Top, Puscifer, Blake Shelton, Keith Urban, Lady Antebellum, Snoop Dogg, Lucy Hale, Rob Zombie, Chris Young, Steve Vai, Darius Rucker, Eli Young Band, Alice Cooper, KISS, Thompson Square and Joe Nichols. In addition, Gavin has provided his wares for many feature films and commercials. Commercial clients include Microsoft, Disney, Amazon, Paypal, Vitamin Water, Audi, Suzuki, JBL, & Harmon-Kardon. Gavin regards himself as a Swiss Army Knife filmmaker, with the savvy to deliver most anything clients are looking for—solving problems and getting the job done within budget.
This was directed by Peter Zavadil, whom I’ve worked with many times. As with all music videos, the turnaround was tight. I worked independently and collaborated with Peter and the label remotely.
I was the colorist on this project. I was hired by producer Jennifer Ansell and director Adam Rothlein. I was given direction and worked independently. Process was smooth with no hiccups.
This was a massive project. In addition to the in-studio footage of Tim and the actors, I was given the entire Oprah Winfrey TV series “Belief” to pull b-roll from. I only had a week to turn this around. I worked on my own, then had a session with director Wes Edwards to fine tune. We knew we had something special but never expected to win CMT video of the year. Very humbled (and kind)!!
