The inextinguishable link between mother and daughter across generations is at the heart of “Citrus,” a play written by Celeste Jennings ’18 as a senior fellowship project this year. Assistant Professor of Music Spencer Topel collaborated with cellist Seth Parker Woods to bring an avant-garde performance installation to Dartmouth’s Black Family Visual Arts Center. The work, Iced Bodies, featured Woods playing a one-of-a-kind cello-shaped ice sculpture, designed by Topel, with embedded electronics producing strange, harsh, and beautiful sounds.
