I am working as an Independent Journalist, contributing for BBC language services and other verticals, and also run a YouTube Channel ‘Sports Gaon’ dedicated to the sportspersons braving odds. Coming from humble families, sports is turning out to be their vehicle for socio-economic upliftment and empowerment in cases of women. I am also associated with Pixstory – a new social media platform designed to fight misinformation, hate speech, abuse and other forms of toxicity. I was with Hindustan Times, Chandigarh, for the last 15-and-half years, till January 15, 2021. Being stationed at Chandigarh, I got an ample opportunity to travel extensively all through the region— Punjab, Haryana and Himachal Pradesh —, especially in the rural areas. I have covered all the Haryana and Punjab state assembly elections and Lok Sabha polls from 2009 onwards. Written a book 'Akhada', an authorised biography of legendary coach Mahavir Singh Phogat, on whose life Bollywood movie ‘Dangal’ was made.
